Angela & Roi, Benevolent Bags

"Vintage inspired with a modern touch," is the aesthetic of a brand I’m currently very excited about. Angela & Roi Lee, the goodhearted founders of the Boston based handbag brand Angela & Roi, have found a way to mix consumerism with philanthropy. These classically beautiful bags, crafted from vegan leather, not only look good, they do good.

Depending on the color of the bag you purchase Angela & Roi donates $5 to one of the 11 causes matching the color of your buy. For example, when you flaunt around a red cross-body bag your donation will go to AIDS. If you’d rather a purple ostrich tote, then your purchase will help fund the research for Altzheimer’s.

Keeping the cost down for consumers is an important point for the caring couple. They have achieved this by carefully choosing a range of timeless and minimally designed items for their online business, eliminating retail space expenses from the equation. This allows the totes the more affordable price range of $65 to $148 compared to brands like Hermes and Saint Laurent with similar minimal designs with price tags from anywhere upwards of $1000. We need more benevolent brands like this. I expect to see some serious stylistas sporting Angela & Roi in Fashion Week street style shots in the coming weeks.
